WRPSA. World Rock Paper Scissors Association.

DRAFT: requires counsel review (COPPA, PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25) before public launch.

A note for families: rock paper scissors in class

Your child's class is using WRPSA, the World Rock Paper Scissors Association, for short games and class tournaments. Here is exactly what that involves.

What the class holds about your child

  • A nickname made of an animal and a number, for example "Otter 7", picked from a list. Your child does not type a name.
  • Optionally, a short label the teacher adds, such as a first name and initial. Only the teacher and the class see it.
  • Their results in class brackets: who won each match.
  • A random code saved in the browser of the device they use, so the game remembers them. We keep only a scrambled copy of it.

What we never collect or do

  • No email address, phone number, birthday, photo, voice or location.
  • No chat, and no free text that other people can read.
  • No advertising and no analytics tracking on a device your child uses for class.
  • Your child never appears on public leaderboards, profiles, the supporter wall or in search results.
  • We do not sell or share this information.

How it works in class

The teacher shows a class code. Students open wrpsa.com/classroom/join on a school or home device, enter the code, pick a nickname, and play classmates in a bracket that the teacher starts and watches.

Reviewing and deleting

The teacher can rename or remove any student at any time, and deleting the class deletes every student's information in it. Your child can also press "Leave class" on their screen, which deletes their nickname and results.

How long we keep it

  • A class nobody has used for 365 days is deleted with every student in it.
  • A student who has not played for 365 days is removed from the class.
  • A family code that was not used is cleared when it expires.
  • When a teacher deletes their account, their classes and everything in them are deleted too.

Linking to a family account (optional)

To see or delete what the class holds for your child yourself, ask the teacher for a family code. Sign in or create a free WRPSA account as the parent or guardian (or your child can, if they are 13 or older), open wrpsa.com/classroom/claim and enter the code. The teacher never sees your account details.
