How 2-player online Rock Paper Scissors works
- Choose an arena and a format on the friend page. RPS Classic is the standard game; Video uses your camera, with a manual fallback. Play a single round or best of 3, 5, 7 or 9.
- Send the link. Copy it, share it, or let a friend in the same room scan the QR code. Only one opponent can claim it, and it expires after 30 minutes.
- Keep this page open. When your friend accepts, you both move into the same match automatically.
- Play. The WRPSA game server referees each round, so neither browser decides the result.
What a friend match is
- Casual. A friend match never changes ranked ratings.
- Private. The link shows no player profile, and only one opponent can claim it.
- No account needed for a link. Challenging by username requires both players to be signed in.
- Official rules. Every friend match uses WRPSA ruleset 1.0.
Multiplayer questions
- Can two people play Rock Paper Scissors online?
- Yes. Open the friend page, create a private game link and send it. Your friend opens it on their own device and joins the same match.
- Does my friend need an account?
- No. A friend can accept a link as a guest. Username challenges are the exception: both players must be signed in.
- Can we play in the same room?
